Scheduling Automated Action Retry

This topic describes how to set up the Business Rules Framework to retry actions that don't complete successfully.

You can set up the Business Rules Framework to retry any actions that don't complete successfully upon the initial action run.

Configuring automated action retry involves setting the:

  • Action retry schedule.
  • Agency-level action retry options.

Setting the Action Retry Schedule

Set up the Action Retry scheduled process to run in the Enterprise Scheduler Service.

  1. Select Common > Process Monitor.
  2. Click Schedule New Process.
  3. On the Schedule New Process dialog, select Action Retry from the Name drop-down list.
  4. Click Yes.
  5. Skip the Parameters tab.

    There are no parameters for this process.

  6. Select the Schedule tab, and select Using a schedule as the Run option.

    Select a Frequency, such as Daily and a start date and end date.

  7. (Optional) You can specify the desired notification if needed.
  8. Click Submit.

Setting Agency-Level Action Retry Options

There are a few settings related to the automated action retry feature that you set at the agency level.

  1. Select Common Setup > Agency.
  2. Select your agency.
  3. Locate the Business Rules Framework section on the Agency Information tab, and modify these settings as needed.

    Automated Retry Limit

    Set the number of times a failed action will be retried automatically. When this limit is reached, manual intervention is required.

    You can determine the number of times an action has been retried automatically on using the Retry Count column the Log Detail page for an unsuccessful action.

    Error Notification Email

    Enter the email address to send notifications of any business rule processing errors.

    Notify on Error

    Turn on to enable email communication to be sent related to any business rule processing errors.

  4. Click Save.
