Setting Up Units of Measure

Units of measure are used to express measurements such as quantity or duration. Each unit of measure must have a unit type such as Area, Length, Time, or Volume.

You add, modify, and delete units of measure on the Unit of Measure pages.

Adding a Unit of Measure

  1. Select the Setup and Maintenance tile on the Agency Springboard to access Functional Setup Manager.

  2. From the Setup drop-down list, select your offering.

  3. From the Functional Areas list in the left panel, select Agency Profile.

  4. The right panel shows the required tasks for the selected functional area. Select All Tasks from the Show drop-down list and then select Define Units of Measure for Public Sector from the tasks list.

  5. On the Unit of Measure page, click the Add (+) button.

  6. On the New unit of measure drawer, enter values for the following fields:

    Unit of Measure

    Enter a unique unit of measure ID. For example, WK for week.

    Description

    Enter a description of the unit of measure. For example, Week.

    Unit Type

    Select the type of measurement. The delivered unit types are Area, Length, Time, and Volume.

    You can define additional values on the Lookup Type Details page. Add new values to the ORA_PSC_CC_UOM_TYPE lookup type.

    ISO Code

    Enter the 2-character ISO unit of measure code.

  7. Click Save.

Modifying a Unit of Measure

  1. Click a row on the Unit of Measure page.

  2. On the Unit of measure details drawer, make the necessary modifications.

  3. Click Save.

Deleting a Unit of Measure

  1. Click a row on the Unit of Measure page.

  2. On the Unit of measure details drawer, click the Delete button.

    You will be prompted to confirm the permanent deletion.
