Reviewing Inspection History
Inspection history summaries help you review prior completed failed inspections during a reinspection. You can review previous inspection information whether AI functionality is enabled or not, but a summary is generated with an AI implementation.
Click the previous inspection date link in the inspection details to open the Inspection history drawer, which contains information about the current reinspection and failed inspection.
The current reinspection appears with a Current view badge. The drawer shows the scheduled date, or the scheduled date and time, depending on agency setup for the inspection type. Close the drawer to return to the current reinspection.
Each inspection listed in the history shows summary information, including:
-
Inspection number
-
Inspection type
-
Inspector
-
Location contact
-
Inspection comments
Previous failed inspections also show the completed date or completed date and time. Click the completed date link to open the completed inspection details, including checklists, signatures, and other inspection information. The row also identifies the failing result and the number of major violations.
In the standard drawer, each inspection listed in the history displays inspection-level summary information. Checklist-level comments and checklist item comments aren’t included in the standard drawer, but they can be used by the AI-generated inspection history summary when AI is enabled.
Reviewing AI-Generated Inspection History Summaries
When AI functionality is enabled and a reinspection is scheduled after a failed inspection, the application generates and saves a summary of the prior failed inspection history.
The saved summary appears in the Inspection history drawer when you open it; the summary isn’t regenerated each time you open the drawer. The current inspection isn’t included in the prior inspection history summary.
Use the AI-generated summary to review:
-
Failed checklist items from prior completed failed inspections
-
Inspection-level comments
-
Checklist results and checklist-level comments
-
Failed checklist item results and comments
-
Major violation information, when available
-
Recurring issues across previous failed inspections
If there’s only one prior completed failed inspection, the drawer shows the inspection-specific summary, but not a separate overall summary.
Here are some considerations when using AI-generated inspection history summaries:
-
For inspections that use scoring, the score itself isn’t summarized. The summary uses the underlying checklist or checklist item result, such as failed, passed, or corrected.
-
Reference entity details are included only when inspectors entered that detail in comments.
-
The generated summary isn’t available when working offline.
AI-generated inspection history summaries are separate from the checklist result summary that inspectors can generate when submitting inspection results. Inspection history summaries help you review prior completed failed inspections during a reinspection. Checklist result summaries help you summarize the current inspection’s checklist results and comments before submitting the inspection.
