Using Code Enforcement Incident Workspace

Use Code Enforcement Incident Workspace to review AI-generated analysis for reported code enforcement incidents, prioritize work, and perform recommended actions from a single workspace. The workspace provides AI-generated incident summaries, recommended actions, active incident insights, and communication assistance to help code technicians manage incidents more efficiently.

The Code Enforcement Incident Workspace provides a consolidated view of reported and active code enforcement incidents.

The workspace combines information from multiple AI workflow agents to help you:

  • Review AI-generated recommendations for newly reported incidents.

  • View summaries of active incidents.

  • Execute recommended actions directly from the workspace.

  • Review priority actions.

  • Generate communications for overdue incidents.

The workspace contains the following sections:

  • Workspace Summary – Displays an overview of the current workload.

  • Reported Incident Smart Analysis Panel – Lists reported incidents with AI-generated recommendations.

  • All Active Incidents Panel – Displays summary information and visualizations for active incidents.

  • Priority Actions – Highlights incidents requiring immediate attention.

  • Communications – Generates email content for overdue incidents.

Accessing the Workspace

After your administrator publishes the Code Enforcement Incident Workspace Agentic App and grants you access, open the workspace from the Permitting and Licensing home page.

When the workspace opens, it automatically retrieves the latest incident information and AI-generated recommendations from the configured workflow agents.

Reviewing AI Recommendations

The Reported Incident Smart Analysis panel displays reported incidents together with AI-generated recommendations.

Note:

To view AI recommendations in the Reported Incident Smart Analysis panel, your agency administrator must configure the Business Rules Framework (BRF) rule to invoke the Call AI Agent action when code enforcement incidents are created. If this BRF action isn't enabled, the Smart Analysis panel won't display AI-generated recommendations. For more information, see Setting Up the Code Enforcement Incident Workspace Agentic App.

For each reported incident, the workspace displays:

  • Incident identifier

  • Incident summary

  • Incident details

  • AI-generated recommendation

  • Recommended action

AI recommendations are generated during incident analysis and can include recommendations such as:

  • Update Priority

  • Close as Duplicate

  • Schedule Inspection

The AI recommendation explains why the suggested action is appropriate for the incident.

Performing an AI Recommended Action

You can execute the action recommended by the AI directly from the workspace.

  1. Open the Reported Incident Smart Analysis panel.

  2. Locate the incident.

  3. Review the AI recommendation.

  4. Click the recommended action.

Depending on the recommendation, you can perform one of the following actions:

  • Update Priority – Changes the incident priority.

  • Close as Duplicate – Closes the incident as a duplicate of an existing incident.

  • Schedule Inspection – Schedules an inspection for the incident.

Viewing Active Incident Summaries

The Active Incident Summary panel provides an overview of the active code enforcement incidents.

The panel includes AI-generated summaries and visualizations that help you understand:

  • Active incident trends

  • Incident distribution

  • Overall workload

This information helps you identify incidents that may require immediate attention.

Reviewing Priority Actions

The Priority Actions section identifies incidents that require prompt attention.

When priority actions are available, review the recommendations and perform the appropriate action directly from the workspace.

Generating Communications

If overdue incidents are identified, the workspace generates communication content that you can review before sending.

  1. Open the Communications section.

  2. Enter the recipient's email address.

  3. Review the generated email.

  4. Send the email.

The communication is pre-populated with information about overdue incidents, reducing the need to manually compose the message.

Refreshing the Workspace

To view the latest incident information, refresh the workspace.

Refreshing the workspace retrieves the latest transactional data from the configured workflow agents. AI recommendations are refreshed only after the incident analysis workflow runs again.
