Enable Redwood Experience for the Override Eligibility within the Benefits Summary
Welcome to this demonstration of the 25C, redwood benefits override eligibility page in HCM Benefits.
This feature brings the redwood design to the override eligibility page within the benefits summary.
Businesses need greater flexibility and control over the benefits administration pages to improve clarity and the users experience. These new features help streamline the benefits administrator’s tasks by improving efficiency, reducing manual effort, and enhancing the overall user experience.
Let’s start with doing a quick overview of this feature.
Eligibility overrides are typically used for exceptions.
Using the override reasons code helps with auditing and compliance. It is best to have the “Enable participant eligibility override” checkbox checked at the program, plan in program, plan type in program, plan and option in plan levels for best results. Enter a through date if you need your override to end on a specific day.
Life event and unrestricted programs, plans and options, work the same.
And plans not in program are listed together after all of the programs.
To access the benefits override eligibility page, login as a user that has access to the benefit administration tab. Then select the benefits activity center.
Search for your employee.
Once the benefits summary page opens scroll down to the evaluate life events region, and in the ellipses select override eligibility. Once the page opens you will see all of the programs, plans and options that this employee is eligible for and ineligible for. To search for a specific program or plan or option, you would simply enter in your name in the search field, skyline for our program and I will see all of the associated plans and options with that program. If I search for a plan, I will see that plan and the associated options for that plan.
And if I search for just an options, I will see all of the plans that include that options. The search feature is great for specific items that you’re search for but if you need to search for two plans or two different options, you will want to use your filters. I will select my program.
And then I will select our medical plans.
And then let’s select a couple of options. And then we see those specific plans and options.
Notice that you have a number here for our plans and options and you will see this here any time you select more than one.
If you have selected just one of the plan or options you will see the name listed here.
I can also search by eligibility status, here I can search by all ineligible plans, programs or options. Or I can select by eligible and it list all of the eligible programs, plans and options. I can also quickly make a program, plan or option eligible or ineligible. Simply click on the checkbox associated with the program, plan or option. In this case let’s make the Green Company Full Benefits ineligible. Notice that our eligibility status is now ineligible and we have our overridden badge listed here.
Let’s say you want to make a single plan ineligible. First let’s go back and make sure they are currently eligible for the plan. I will scroll down to the evaluated life events.
Under my ellipses I will select enrollment opportunities. We’re going to make the Gold EPO plan ineligible.
So let’s go back to our override eligibility. We will search for our plan.
And let’s make the entire plan ineligible. I see that it’s now been made ineligible and I can see the my overridden badge. Let’s return to the enrollment opportunities. And I can see that that plan has been completely removed. Now let’s say we only want them to have the family option eligible. We'll return to the override eligibility form.
I will search for my plan.
And I will make the self and family options eligible. I can now see that the family option and the plan show as eligible. Let’s return to the enrollment opportunities and verify that we can see that plan. I can see that plan right here.
Let’s return to the override eligibility page and look at the actions. I will search for my program and let’s click on the actions icon.
Like on the main page I can make a program, plan or option eligible or ineligible by checking my eligible checkbox.
I can enter in a through date, maybe I only want this eligibility to last for a specific time, so you would enter in that through date.
If you leave this field blank, it will continue this override until December 31 of the year 4712. It is also good practice to enter in a reason from our reason listing. You can also change the eligibility start date, end date, waiting period.
You can override the restricted distribution, the highly compensated, key employees and dependents only.
In the eligibility area under age and length of service you can override, age, length of service, hours worked and then age and length of service. You can override the compensation full-time percentages and override service date and you can change the flags on the freeze information. In the rate region again you can change the age and length of service values listed here, compensation items and again your freeze flags.
You can also modify any waive setup you might have for your particulate program, plan or option.
Now these values might adjust based upon the object you are looking at, whether it’s a program, a plan or an option. Once you finished making all of your changes click on save and close.
This concludes this demonstration. Thank you for watching.
