Navigate to Impacted Work Definitions in the Redwood User Experience Using the Item Structure Change Notification

Welcome to the demo of the 25A feature navigate to impacted work definitions in the Redwood user experience using the item structure change notification in Fusion Manufacturing.

With this enhancement, you can now navigate to the impacted work definitions in Redwood user interface by using the hyperlink in the item structure changes to work definitions notification. Work definitions in Redwood user interface was introduced in release 24B. The profile option Redwood definitions enabled was introduced for enabling work definitions in Redwood user interface.

Even if you are already using Redwood user experience for managing your work definitions, clicking on impacted work definitions hyperlink used to take you to manage work definitions. ADF user interface not Redwood user interface. With this, you can now seamlessly use Redwood user experience to coordinate the change management process between product managers and manufacturing engineers.

This demo shows you how navigate to impacted work definitions in the Redwood user experience using the item structure change notification enhances your business.

To keep the item structure and work definition aligned we have scheduled the ESS process item structure changes to work definitions to run a few times during the day. So the manufacturing engineer gets notified through a work list notification of any item structure changes implemented in Product Information Management that require a manual user action.

We also have enabled the profile option, Redwood work definitions enabled, that was introduced in 24B be for enabling work definitions in Redwood user interface.

We are in the new work definition landing page. You can see that there are many new notifications. Click on Show More to view more notifications. You can see many notification related to structure changes.

Let us click on any one notification. You can see that item PPS-GEN-Computer structure primary has been modified in M1 organization. The change summary mentions that component PPS-LDA-KeyBoard has been added.

Let us now click on the impacted work definitions link. You can see that it has launched manage work definitions UI for M1 organization in Redwood, not in ADF UI. Let us query for item PPS-GEN-Computer, structure, Primary.

You can see that work definition, Primary, has been created for this item with item structure Primary. You can click on the work definition link to review and update the work definition details. This concludes the feature demo. Thank you for watching.
