Redwood: Search and Perform Mass Actions for Work Orders Using a New User Experience

Welcome to the demo of the Update 25B feature Redwood Search and perform mass actions for work orders using a new user experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing. With this feature, you can now manage work orders with greater ease and efficiency using Redwood user experience. You can search faster using keywords and common filters, view more work order information at a glance, and also perform mass actions for multiple work orders.

You can search and manage work orders efficiently with the modern and responsive user interface. Thus, you have a simplified work order management and with increased productivity and progress-tracking capabilities. Now, let's walk through a short demo of this feature. First, we will launch the Manage Work Orders Redwood user interface. Then, we will see how to search the work orders. We will search work orders using the keywords, filter chips, and additional search filters. Next, we will perform various mass actions for the selected work orders and how to print PDF reports of the work order. With this, let's get into the demo.

First, let's see how to launch the Manage Work Order Redwood user interface. In the supply chain execution functional area, click on Work Execution. Work Execution Overview page is launched. You can select the organization if needed. And using the work orders new link, you can launch the Manage Work Orders page. This link is shown only when the profile value for the profile option Redwood Manage Work Orders Enabled is set as Yes.

You can see that the Manage Work Orders Redwood user interface is launched. The work orders are shown based on the default search filters, start date and completion date, as today and next 14 days. Next, let's see how to search work orders in the Manage Work Orders Redwood user interface. First, let's see how to search work orders using keywords.

Enter M1 as the keyword to search. Now, you can see that the work order numbers that contains M1 are shown in the search results. Let's see another keyword search. Enter PROD1 as the keyword to search. You can see that all the work orders with the item that contains PROD1 are shown. Next, let's search using the filter chips.

Using the start date, you can search work orders with different options as shown. Select the start date option as today. That is, March 15. You can see how the filter chip with the start date option is rendered. You can see that the work orders with the start date as today, that is March 15, are searched and displayed.

Similarly, you can also search using the filter chip completion date and with similar options. Select the completion date option as today and next 14 days. You can see how the filter chip with the completion date option is rendered. Also, note that the work orders with the completion date as today and next 14 days are searched and displayed. Also, check the other filter chip status. Different statuses and the count of work orders are shown.

Select the following statuses: Closed, SCM_Released and MFG_Canceled. You can see that the work orders in the closed SCM_Released MFG_Canceled statuses are shown in the search results. Now, click on the filters and check the additional search filters. You can also search work orders with additional search filters as shown. You can see some more search filters. And the complete list of search filters are shown. You can also see that the additional search filters are provided with different operators.

For example, the actual completion date has start date, end date. Back to back filter has yes and no as options to search back to back work orders. Also, you can search work orders with the options listed for the canceled reason filter. Next, let's see the saved search capability. Click on the Saved Searches icon. You can create a new search for searching work orders in unreleased status. Provide a name, Unreleased Work Orders, and create a saved search. Next time when you select the saved search, you can see the desired results.

All the work orders in Unreleased status are searched and shown based on the saved search. Next, let's see how to perform mass actions for the work orders. First, let's see how to release work orders. Select one or more work orders and click on the release action. You can see the toast message, "Two work orders released." You can see that the status of the two work orders are updated to Released.

Next, let's see how to pick materials for work orders. Select one or more work orders and click on the Release and Pick Materials action. You can specify the parameters to pick materials for the selected work orders. You can see the message is displayed that the scheduled process is submitted to pick materials for the work orders. Eventually, upon successful completion of the scheduled process, the work orders will be set to Release status, and the materials are allocated.

Next, let's see the mass actions. You can see the list of actions that can be performed on one or more work orders. Select one or more work orders, and using the reserve materials automatically action, you can reserve work order materials. You can see the message is displayed that the scheduled process is submitted to reserve materials for the work orders. Eventually, upon successful completion of the scheduled process, the work order materials will be reserved automatically.

Next, let's see the mass actions to manage work order priorities. Select one or more work orders. And using the Edit Priority action, you can update the work order priorities. Here, you can provide the value for the priorities of the selected work orders. Now, see that the work order priorities are updated. Next, let's check how to expedite work orders.

Select two work orders and execute Expedite Action. You can see the toast message, "Two work orders expedited," and the icon displayed for the selected work orders. Similarly, you can de-expedite work orders that were expedited. Select two work orders and execute De-expedite action. You can see the toast message, "Two work orders de-expedited," and the expedited icon is removed for the selected work orders. Next, let's see how to cancel work orders.

Select one or more work orders and execute Cancel Action. Provide the canceled reason. You can see the toast message, "Work order canceled." You can see that the work order status is updated to canceled. Similarly, you can perform other mass actions to change the work order status. Finally, let's see how to print the work order PDF.

The print action can be performed for only one work order at a time. Select a work order and execute Print Components List action. You can see a toast message that the PDF is downloading. You can now see the components list report of the work order. Next, let's see how to print a work order traveler report. Select a work order and execute Print Work Order Traveler action. You can see a toast message that the, "PDF is downloading." You can now see the work order traveler report. Similarly, you can generate and print the extensible work order traveler report as well.

Next, let's see how to print work order label. Select a work order and execute Print Label action. You can see a toast message that the, "PDF is downloading." You can see the report of the work order label. To summarize with this feature, you can do the following using the Redwood user experience: search work orders and perform mass actions for work orders. This concludes the demo of this feature.
