Redwood: Search for, Create, and Edit an Assemble To Order Model Item Work Definition Using a New User Experience
Welcome to the demo of the 24D Redwood search for, create, and edit and assemble to order model item work definition using a new user experience in Fusion Manufacturing. With this enhancement, you can now efficiently create and update ATO model work definitions using the Redwood user experience. As a result, you can create a work definition for an ATO model in fewer steps, manage work definitions operations, operation items, and operation resources using a grid experience, search faster and filter work definitions which significantly reduces the time to launch a new or updated work definition through user productivity gains. With these, you can ensure the accuracy and completeness of work definitions for an ATO model item with efficient data entry, flexibility, and faster page performance and scalability.
This demo shows you how Redwood search for, create, and edit and assemble to order model item work definition using a new user experience enhances your business. We'll use ATO model MFG_B2B_ATO1, also known as ATO model ATO1 for this demo.
MFG_B2B_ATO1 is an ATO model with multi-level structure with mandatory components TMC1 and TMC2, option classes OC1 and OC2, option item OP7 and child ATO Model ATO3 some components in the item structure are phantom.
The option class OC1 has child option classes OC3 and OC4. Option class OC3 has two option items, OP31 and OP32. Option class C4 has option items OP41, OP42, a mandatory component, ODM C4 and a child ATO model ATO2. Option class OC2 has a phantom mandatory component ODM C3 with child components, C13, C14, phantom option items OP21 and OP22 with multi-level phantom structures.
ATO3 is a non-optional child model. Option item OP7 has phantom components PH3 and PH4. PH3 and PH4 have their own structures. Let us now create a new work definition for the ATO model ATO1.
In Redwood Work Definitions, you can see the list of work definitions, including ATO model work definitions, search or filter work definitions. Take several actions and start creating a new work definition. You can deactivate, reactivate, copy, print, work definition report, edit priorities, manage versions, and delete work definitions from this user experience.
Let us start creating a new work definition for ATO model ATO1. Start by selecting the ATO model ATO1 in the item. Some of fields will automatically default. We are creating work definition, Main. While some of the details like completion subinventory, production priority, and start date has defaulted, user can modified if required. Click on the Create button.
You can see the placeholder operation has been automatically added. User can use it or modify the details as required. I have modified the first operation. After modifying Operation 10, we have added five more operations. Let us save the operations.
As we scroll right, we can see the option dependent and planning percent columns. These are applicable only for ATO model work definitions. We can make the operation option-dependent by enabling the checkbox. For the option-dependent operations, user can update the planning percent.
After updating the operation details, click on the Operation Item tab. No component has been assigned till now. Let us start assigning the components to different operations from the Item Structure view.
In the Item Structure view, user can see the level of the component in Component Hierarchy. These details help user understand and assign components to different operations. We are assigning components to different operations and system defaults the material sequence. You can see that the components of phantom mandatory components TMC2 are also visible and can be assigned to operation. For example, here we have assigned C9, C10, and Ph6 to operation 50.
Similarly, the child components of phantom auction item OP7 are also visible. If required, user can assign components of OP7 or its components. After saving the details, you can click on Export Operation Item Assignment button to check the assignments and incomplete assignments.
You can see that some components have not been assigned yet. And so the ATO model ATO1 has incomplete assignment status. As you scroll, you can see several other details of work definition. Complete the pending assignments and save.
In the Operation Items tab, Item Structure view, you can use several filters. For example, you can search only the optional items from the components displayed for assignment by selecting the Yes button for optional filter. Based on the filter, only the items with optional equals yes defined in the structure is listed.
Similarly, user can use leaf nodes equals yes to view only the leaf node components of the multi-level structure components for assignment to different operations. Based on the filter leaf nodes equals yes, only the leaf node components of the multi-level structure components being displayed for assignment. User can also search components of a particular level of the multi-level item structure.
You can see that only level 3 components are displayed based on the filter. All these filters and the search can help you assign the appropriate components to write operations. Let us review the Assigned Items view now.
In the Assigned Items view, you can see the components assigned to different operation. To identify the component from multilevel structure, component hierarchy also is displayed. As you scroll right, you can see other important details of work definition operation items, including Optional Column. In the Assigned Item view, user can use the supply type filter or can search the rows based on item, operation sequence etc.
You can also edit attachments, view substitute components, and edit additional information. After assigning the items, you can view and edit operation resources. Updating operation resources is same as mentioned in 24B demo for standard item.
Let us save and close the work definition. We can see the work definition that has been created in the list of work definitions in this page. For the work definition created, let us print the Work Definition report. The report is downloading.
Page 1 of 10 of Work Definition report. Let us review a few more pages of this report. Page 2 of the report. You can see the work definition header information, details of operation 10, and one item OC3 from items assigned to this operation. Remaining items assigned to operation 10. You can also see the component hierarchy for each operation item here.
Page 4, details of Operation 20 and some of the items assigned to Operation 20. Similarly, you can review other operation details, components assigned to that operation, hierarchy of the assigned components, and substitute components defined in item structure, if any, in this report. With this, we are at the end of the demo. Thanks for watching the demo.
