Report Scrap Quantity During Work Execution at a Workstation
Welcome to the demo of the 25A feature, report scrap quantities during work execution at a workstation. On the factory floor, only the assembly items that meet predefined customer quality standards can proceed to the next stage or be shipped as finished goods. Items that fail to meet these standards are either rejected for rework or scrapped in case they cannot be repaired or reused.
With this update, production operators can report assembly items as scrap and provide a reason for scrapping while executing production at a workstation. This helps customers streamline their scrap reporting process, reduces delay with real-time tracking of production waste, and reduce time for waste reconciliation. By allowing operators to provide scrap reason codes, businesses can identify issues early, facilitate downstream data-driven decisions for reducing material loss, and improving process efficiencies.
Let's look at a short demo for this feature. I would launch the Execute Production at a Workstation task in Work Execution work area. Select a workstation and check into it. Select a work order and an operation and start execution. I would then report scrap by selecting a reason code.
Let's get into the demo. I am launching the execute production at a workstation task in Work Execution work area. I select the tablet pack Workstation 1 and I check into it.
After checking into the workstation, I select a work order. Since this work order has ready quantities for an operation that can be executed at the workstation's work center, I'm looking at the work order operation details. I start execution. And now I'm going to report a scrap quantity after selecting a scrap reason.
I click on Scrap. Since this operation or the preceding automatically transacted operations have backflush materials, I submit the backflush material transactions, and the operation transaction is also submitted. You can see that one quantity has been scrapped. Please note that only the production operators with the privileges to report scrap transactions will be able to use this functionality.
The scrap reason codes shown to the operators can also be configured. You can do this in Functional Setup Manager's Manage Standard Lookup task. Search for the lookup type ORA_WIE_REASON_CODE. You can then add lookup values to it. This concludes the demo for this feature. Thank you.
