Smart Operations: Create and Store a Shift Report in the Production Supervisor Workbench
Welcome to the demo of the 24D Smart Operations feature, create and store a shift report in a production Supervisor Workbench in Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing. With this enhancement, production supervisors can effectively report on their work centers' shift activities. They can search for create, edit, or delete shift reports. When a shift report is created, the application captures key performance metrics, details of completed and pending operations, open exceptions, and operator a check in history.
Additionally, supervisors can either manually record a shift summary or use generative AI to automatically generate a summary. Production supervisors must communicate shift activities to stakeholders and peers to facilitate handoffs and address important issues requiring follow-up. Traditionally, these reports have been manually generated from handwritten notes and information gathered from multiple sources.
With this feature, you can streamline this process, saving time and eliminating the need for manually compiling comprehensive and accurate reports. Supervisors can leverage shift reports for effective communication with their peers and stakeholders. The data collected through these reports also supports analysis and improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
This demo shows you how you can use this feature. As a supervisor, we will first create a shift report for your work center and shift. We will review the contents of the system generated shift report. Then we will enter a shift summary to complete the shift report. We will then navigate to the list of shift reports, where you or other supervisors can access the saved shift reports.
I am logged in as the production supervisor and have selected the Work Execution area in Supply Chain Execution. Click the Production Supervision task to launch the Production Supervisor Workbench. In the current update, the Supervisor Workbench features information organized into three tabs: work orders, exceptions, and reporting.
In this demo, we will focus on the Reporting tab in detail. The reporting tab enables the supervisor to review the prior shifts report and create reports for their shift. Click the Reporting tab. You can search for existing shift reports for the current week or across all reports. Use key words from your shift summary or the username of the report creator to refine your search.
To create a new report, click the Create Report button. Select the work center for which the shift report is being created. Select the shift for which you are creating the report. You can choose either the current shift or the previous shift applicable to the work center. Additionally, you can create the shift report multiple times as needed.
Click Confirm button. This action will automatically generate a PDF based shift report. Click the View icon to view the automatically created shift report. Here, you can view a snapshot of all activities for the selected work center and shift. The performance metrics include work order plan quantity, completed quantity, scrapped quantity, and the operation level first pass yield for the shift.
Additionally, you can see any pending work order operations that were not completed during the current shift. Scrolling further down, you can view details of completed work order operations, open exceptions at the time the report was generated, and a summary of operator check-ins for the workstations within the work center.
In the Shift Summary section, you can enter your shift summary notes. I have manually entered the summary here. Alternatively, you can enable the AI Assist feature, which utilizes generative AI to automatically create and summarize the shift based on logged exceptions and operator notes. For more details on how to enable and use the AI Assist feature, please refer to the feature titled Generate Shift Summary for the Production Supervisor. Once you're ready, click the Submit button.
You are now on the Report List page, where you can view all shift reports for the work center. You can filter the reports to display those from just the current week or all reports. Additionally, you have the option to view, edit, or delete any shift report. To see more details, click the Expand icon.
Here, you can view additional details of the context of the shift report. For more information on how to turn on and use the AI Assist feature, please refer to the feature description in demo of the 24D feature, Generate Shift Summary for the Production Supervisor. This is the end of the feature demo. Thank you.
