Integrate Launch with Digital Business Experience Solution

The following modeling enhancements have been introduced for Digital Business Experience(DBE):

  • The following atomic product offering modeling definition is enhanced for DBE and non DBE solution deployments :
    • Allowance grant validity based on first usage. When a subscriber purchases the offering the validity of the allowance is not initialized. It get's initialized when the subscriber first uses the product offering. Earlier allowance validities were always initialized based on the occurrence of the event say at the time of purchase.
      • Example - SD Voice allowance offer grants 100 voice minutes with first usage validity and end period set to 1 month relative to the start date.
    • Counters validity based on first usage - When a subscriber purchases the offering the counter validity is not initialized. It's initialized when the subscriber first uses the product offering. Earlier counter validities were always initialized based on the occurrence of the event say purchase time.
      • Example - Wireless Data Offer grants 10 GB data with First usage validity, counter data count is setup with first usage validity and end period set to 1 month relative to the start date.
    • Policy Specification - Configure policy specifications in Launch product offerings for policy-driven charging which will be used by the downstream charging and policy controller application.  You can start with configuring policy specifications using REST API and then associate it to the atomic product offering for down stream policy and rule charging function(PCRF) consumption. The policy specification must be first configured in PDC and then loaded into Launch.
      • Example - Policy specification with policy labels QOS for Minutes balance element .
    • Chargeshare offer - Ability to configure atomic offering with billing type as chargeshare and product type others.  A chargeshare offer contains one or more charge shares that specify how charges are shared among the members of a group. Charge sharing enables an account to sponsor the charges of other accounts in the group. The sponsoring account receives the balance impact of charges incurred by the group member accounts. You can configure the charge share offer and the downstream systems should take care of managing the sponsorship group. First, you need to create a zero value fee similar to a discount offering and configure the charge share model. The supported models are fixed and percentage charge shares. Fixed charge share specifies the fixed value that is shared between the group member and sponsor account. The percentage charge share specifies the percentage value shared among the group member and sponsor account. Configure only a single charge share for a given fee type. The charge share offer can then be included into a bundled offering.
      • Example -  SD chargeshare offering with billing type charge share. Configure a one time charge share with 100% charge share applying to sharer balance and 100% to member balance.
    • Rollovers -  Ability to configure rollover of granted allowance balances. Rollover is a type of charge that credits unused balances at the end of a billing cycle to the account balance for the next cycle. For example, minutes are often rolled over from one month to the next. Balances from rollovers are different from granted allowance balances, which are valid between two specific dates.
      • When defining rollovers, specify the following:
        • The balance elements (allowances only) to roll over. ex: Free Minutes, Gigabyte.
        • The type of cycle to which the rollover applies. Support only Monthly frequency.
        • The maximum number of cycles that a balance element can be rolled over to.
        • The maximum amount that can be rolled over in a cycle.
        • The maximum value for a rollover balance.
        • A G/L ID for the rollover charge.
      • Example -  A limit of 150 total minutes from previous months can be rolled over into a new month.
