Enhancements for Maintaining Resources and Requests

Leverage enhancements across the resource management business processes to increase efficiency and productivity for maintaining resources and managing resource requests.

• The Maintain Project Enterprise Labor Resources process has been extended to support updates of the resource's pool, project role, calendar, or rates based on the selected maintenance condition. This is illustrated in the example below, which also includes the enhancement using location or position to control updates.

• Use location and position as additional selection criteria to automatically assign resources to pools when maintaining project enterprise resources.

Add a new condition in Manage Project Enterprise Labor Resource Maintenance Conditions page to find resources based on location and position and assign them to the specified pool

• Use workflow notifications to conveniently access project resource requests when new resource requests are submitted.

The notification includes a link on the request name to access the project resource request and where the resource manger can take appropriate action.

• Person number is available as an advanced search attribute when searching for project resources in Manage Project Resource Requests, Manage Project Resource Assignments and Manage Project Resources pages. This is available for both the resource manager and the project manager.

• When duplicating project resource requests, the duplication now copies all descriptive flexfield values to the new request.

• Leveraging location and position of a person to maintain the catalog of project personnel enables accuracy when mapping people to calendars, resource pools and project roles.

• Updating crucial information such as resource pool, calendar, and project role for a person ensures accurate representation of people as they evolve within the organization, thus improving resource management staffing, scheduling and reporting.

• Navigating from the resource request notification to the project resource request page assists resource managers in fulfilling requests more efficiently in their daily tasks.

• Adding person number facilitates project managers and resource managers to quickly find a resource, especially when similar first or last names are present.
