Support for Application Data Catalogs and Application Data Services

There is a new capability to store and browse data catalogs for Data Foundation as well as for applications it integrates with. In this release, the catalog for Profitability and Balance Sheet Management Cloud Service (PBSMCS) application is seeded in the product.

There is a new user interface to browse these catalogs (, and associated business terms in catalog glossary, and entities in the catalog).

Application Data Service (ADS) is a means of integration between Data Foundation and other Oracle Applications. An ADS will be used for providing source data to Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications, and for receiving results data from these applications.

To build an application data service, 2 new sets of information need to be captured.

• Mapping between Data Foundation Business Terms (Data Foundation Glossary) and Application Business Terms (Application Glossary)
• Connector mapping from Data Foundation database entities (and attributes / business terms) to Application database entities (and attributes / business terms)

• Cost savings through common data sourcing
• Better governance of control for data consumption through single point of integration for results data for downstream applications
