File Watcher
The intended functionality of File Watcher widget or components in the Process Modelling Framework is to watch for a specified file (pattern- earlier known) in Oracle Object Storage. This helps to further automate execution of other tasks once file is detected. and helps to streamline integrations and supporting event-driven process automation.
There are two types of File Watcher widgets:
- Polling Based: A polling-based File Watcher periodically checks Oracle Object Storage at defined intervals to detect the presence of a new or an updated file.
- Event Based: An event-based File Watcher leverages Oracle Object Storage events to receive near real-time notifications when files are added, modified, or deleted.
The File Watcher delivers business value by automating processes based on file availability, reducing the need for manual monitoring and intervention. It enables faster processing by triggering actions immediately when files are detected, improves efficiency, and ensures timely, reliable system integrations, resulting in smoother and more responsive operations.
