Enhanced Name Matching for Sanctions Screening
With the February 2026 release, Sanctions screening introduces a new logic for name matching that leverages Gen-AI keyword extraction. Previously, the system split names into separate keywords (e.g., "David," "Mark," "Smith") and matched each one independently. With the new approach, the full extracted name (e.g., "David Mark Smith") is now sent as a single entity for matching.
- Increased Accuracy: By matching the full narrative (e.g., "David Mark Smith") rather than individual name components, the system provides more precise results during sanctions screening.
- Reduced False Positives: Leveraging Gen-AI-based extraction significantly decreases the likelihood of incorrect matches, enabling teams to focus on true compliance risks and reducing unnecessary manual reviews.
- Greater Consistency: The unified approach delivers consistent matching logic, regardless of whether Gen-AI extraction is used, streamlining compliance workflows and reporting.
