Work Pattern Templates and Assignment Rules
As an HR specialist, you can more easily create and assign work patterns for people in the groups or departments you support using work pattern templates and assignment rules. People need to match only one rule to be assigned the specified work pattern template as their active work pattern. You create and assign work pattern templates using the My Client Groups > Workforce Scheduling > Work Pattern Templates quick action.

Edit Page for Existing Work Pattern Template Assignment Rules
You can define assignment rules for multiple resource types and the assignment process moves through the employment hierarchy from the more granular level to more general level until it finds a match:
- Position
- Job
- Location
- Department
- Legal Employer
- Enterprise
For example, if you define a rule for Registered Nurse and the worker's position job matches, the template is assigned to the worker as their active work pattern. If you define a rule for the department the worker was hired into, but not the position, the template still becomes their active work pattern.
This feature lets HR specialists more easily create and assign work patterns to workers in the groups and departments they support.
