UK Statutory Paternity Leave Legislative Update 2024

The UK Government has amended the Statutory Paternity Leave:

• For birth the new rules apply where the expected week of childbirth begins on or after Sunday 7th April 2024.
• For adoption the new rules apply where the actual date of placement is 6th April 2024 or later.
• Fathers or partners can split their leave into 2 blocks of 1 week. Previously, only 1 block of 1 or 2 weeks could be taken
• Fathers or partners can take their leave at any point within 52 weeks after the birth or adoption of their child.

The solution has been updated to reflect these changes.

The UK Statutory Paternity solution has been updated to allow employees paternity leave to be processed in line with the amended legislation.

Steps to Enable

To use the new solution users will need to create two new absence types to allow recording of leave that is taken after the main leave.
