Generate Representatives for Nonworkers

Nonworkers can now see their representatives through self-service. Other users, such as Line Managers or HR Representatives, can also see the representatives of a nonworker. HCM processes such as Approvals and Refresh Representatives Data, now includes nonworkers. 

Generating representatives for nonworkers has these benefits:

• Display the representative for a nonworker in the Need help? Contact us page section.

• Route approval and transactions to a nonworker's current representative.

You can now calculate the representatives for nonworkers in addition to calculating representatives for employees, contingent workers, and pending workers. Upon enabling the profile option to include nonworkers in representative calculations, HCM approval rules for person and employment transactions will notify the nonworker's designated representatives.

The processes that are impacted by this feature are:

• Representatives region in the Public Info page. This page is available through My Activity Center and Directory.

• Representatives region in the Connections page.

• Representatives region in the Need help? Contact us page section wherever it appears. For example, within employment transactions. 

• HCM Approvals page. Representatives of a nonworker are calculated when employment transactions are performed on a nonworker, as long as the AOR usage is set to approvals.

• Refresh Representative Data (ESS) scheduled process. This process calculates representatives for nonworkers only when the profile option is enabled. 

This feature enables the nonworkers to be treated the same as other employees, contingent workers, and pending workers.

Steps to Enable

In order to work with the generating representatives, you must enable the ORA_PER_AOR_ CALCULATE_NONWORKER profile option.

To enable the profile option, navigate to the Setup and Maintenance work area:

1. Search for and click the Manage Administrator Profile Values task.
2. Search for and select the profile option:
3. Select the Level as Site.
4. Enter Yes in the Profile Value field.
5. Click Save and Close.

Tips And Considerations

• This feature applies to Responsive and Redwood UIs.

• This feature is disabled out of the box so existing customers won't see any regression after the upgrade. However, if you enable the ORA_PER_AOR_ CALCULATE_NONWORKER profile option, all user interfaces listing associated representatives and processes including approvals, etc. will calculate representatives for nonworkers.

• It's not necessary to enable this feature if your organization doesn't have nonworkers as part of your workforce.
