Redwood Experience for HCM Data Loader
Enrich the user experience with the new Configure HCM Data Loader page developed using the Redwood toolset. This page is built from the ground up using Visual Builder Studio (VBS) to give you a unique experience of Oracle applications
Configure HCM Data Loader used to enable HDL functionality, override the default processing behavior, and configure which processes are submitted after business objects are uploaded. Additionally, use this page to review and configure the post processes that are automatically submitted after bulk-load processing.
The Configure HCM Data Loader page available in the Data Exchange work area consists of 4 tabs:
- HCM Data Loader Parameters
- HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Parameters
- Business Object Post Processes
- Data Set Post Processes
HCM Data Loader Parameters
Salient Features:
You can review and configure the parameters that control feature availability, default file shape, performance, and diagnostics for HCM Data Loader and runtime behavior for both HCM Data Loader as a whole and for specific business objects.
Here, not all parameters can be overridden. Some are read-only to describe the default behavior and provide details of the file-specific instruction that can be used to change the run-time behavior for individual files.
-
HCM Data Loader tab:
Parameters that control HDL feature availability, performance and runtime behavior across all business objects.- Search: Search for parameter by typing in the parameter name.
- Filter: Use the Category filter chip to retrieve applicable parameters for various categories like: Availability, Diagnostics, File Definition, Performance, and Scheduling Default.
- Sorting: Parameters displayed by ascending category and parameter name.
- Parameter Information: All the parameters are listed in a table with the following columns:
-
Field
Description Parameter Name Name of the parameter Category Category of the parameter Default Value Pre-configured default for the parameter Override Value Overridden value of the parameter Description Description for the parameter Action Record level Icons -
Edit: To set the override value
Save: To save the overridden value
Cancel: To abort the changes
HCM Data Loader Parameters - HCM Data Loader tab
-
Business Objects tab:
Parameters specific to individual business objects that control HDL processing of that object.- Search: Search for parameter by typing in the parameter name.
- Filter: Use the Business Object filter chip to retrieve applicable parameters for selected business object.
- Sorting: Parameters displayed by ascending business object and parameter name.
- Parameter Information: All the parameters are listed in a table with the following columns:
-
Field Description Business Object Name of the business object related to the parameter
Parameter Name Name of the parameter Default Value Pre-configured default value for the parameter Overridden Value Overridden value for the parameter Description Description of the parameter Action Record level Icons -

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Parameters
Salient Features:
You can review and configure the parameters that control feature availability, default file shape, performance, and diagnostics for HCM Data Loader and runtime behavior for both HCM Data Loader as a whole and for specific business objects.
Here, not all parameters can be overridden. Some are read-only to describe the default behavior and provide details of the file-specific instruction that can be used to change the run-time behavior for individual files.
Note: This allows different default behavior between the two tools. For example, participants enrolled using HSDL may evaluate life events (the volume is smaller), while this capability is disabled in HDL.
-
HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader tab:
Parameters which control HSDL performance and runtime behavior across all business objects.- Search: Search for parameter by typing in the parameter name.
- Filter: Use the Category filter chip to retrieve applicable parameters for various categories like: Availability, Performance, and Scheduling Default.
- Sorting: Parameters displayed by ascending category and parameter name.
- Parameter Information: All the parameters are listed in a table with the following columns:
-
Field Description Parameter Name Name of the parameter Category Category of the parameter Default Value Pre-configured default for the parameter Overridden Value Override value for the parameter Description Description for the parameter Action Record level Icons -

HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader - HSDLtab
-
Business Objects tab:
Parameters specific to individual business objects that control HSDL processing of that object.- Search: Search for parameter by typing in the parameter name.
- Filter: Use the Business Object filter chip to retrieve applicable parameters for selected business object.
- Sorting: Parameters displayed by ascending business object and parameter name.

Business Object Post Processes
Salient Features:
You can review and configure processes that are automatically submitted after data is loaded for a business object.
- Search: Search by post process name.
- Filter: Use the Business Object filter chip to retrieve applicable processes for various business objects.
- Sorting: Processes are sorted by business object, processing order and process name.
- Parameter Information: All the parameters are listed in a table with the following columns:
-
Field Description Business Object Name of the business object for the post process
Processing Order The order in which the process will be submitted for a business object. If there is no dependency between processes, they have the same value and will be submitted in parallel.
Process Name Name of the process Automatic Submission Pre-configured default value for automatic submission of post processes Override Automated Submission Override value for automatic submission of post processes Task Name Name of the task to supply when using a SET instruction to disable the process within a file Description Description of the process Actions Record level Icons -
