Global HR introduced the ability to calculate and store adjusted FTE along with FTE starting in release 23B. Now, you can have annual salary and annual full-time salary calculations use adjusted FTE instead of FTE.

This feature gives you better flexibility when managing your statutory FTE requirements.

Steps to Enable

You need to enable the ORA_CMP_USE_AFTE_INSTEAD_FTE profile option using the Setup and Maintenance > Tasks panel Search > Manage Administrator Profile Values task.

  1. Search for and select the ORA_CMP_USE_AFTE_INSTEAD_FTE profile option.
  2. In the Level field, select Site.
  3. In the Site level row,  Profile Value field, enter Yes.
  4. Save your changes and close the page.

Tips And Considerations

You see the change primarily on the Redwood pages of Change Salary, Salary History, My Compensation, Compensation Info, View Compensation History, Employee Summary, and Employment Info. You might see the effect on some responsive and classic pages, but we strongly recommend that you use only the Redwood pages.

You can also see the effect in the Salary object for HCM Data Loader, the Salaries REST service, database views (CMP_ASG_SALARY_V), approval data model and salary notifications, and database items (CMP_ASSIGNMENT_SALARY_ANNUAL_AMOUNT and CMP_ASSIGNMENT_SALARY_ANNUAL_FULLTIME_AMOUNT).

Salary basis types of user determined, incremental components, and simple components support adjusted FTE. You could see unexpected results with the rates-based salary type between the Redwood and responsive pages.

These compensation areas and pages will be enhanced to use adjusted FTE in future releases:

  • Rates-based salary
  • Download Salaries page
  • Simulate Salary Ranges page
  • Workforce Compensation pages
  • Total Compensation Statements pages
  • OTBI subject areas

Note: When you use adjusted FTE, be sure to expose the relevant fields in all the Global HR flows, such as Hire and Promote. Otherwise adjusted FTE might not be initialized or it becomes 0 in certain scenarios, which could affect salary calculations.
