Skill Settings to Support Configuration of Skill Usage and Endorsement Capabilities
- Supports a skill requirement as met only if the skill is validated.
- Renders skill chips in darker color only once they have been validated.
- Prevents employees and managers from entering free-form (nonlibrary) skills in Skills Center.
- Prevents managers from entering free-form (nonlibrary) skills when assigning core skills to employees.
- Prevents any employee from adding skills to another employee’s profile and allowing only employees to add skills to their talent profile. Note that managers and administrators can still assign skills to employees.
Ensures the following:
- Only validated skills count toward meeting role or learning requirements, reinforcing a consistent skills framework across the enterprise.
- Preventing free-form (nonlibrary) skill entry helps maintain a clean, standardized skill taxonomy.
- Darker rendering of skill upon validation gives clear visual feedback on which skills are confirmed, improving usability and understanding for both employees and managers.
- Limiting who can add skills to profiles (for example, restricting peer edits) protects profile integrity and minimizes risk of inaccurate data entry.
