  • Define skill descriptors to classify the skills and define their relevance to the organization, to maintain a targeted library of skills.

Tips And Considerations

Deactivating Skills or Catalogs

  • You can edit all attributes except template and skill ID for deactivated skills, so you can ensure the skill is full ready for use with the right setup before you make it available to your users
  • When you reactivate a catalog, all skills in the catalog are treated as reactivated.
  • A check for duplicates is run when you change the name for a skill or reactivate a catalog, so you can choose a different name for the skill. If there are duplicates when reactivating a catalog, a list of duplicates is displayed, so you can decide how best to disposition those skills.

Skill Descriptors to Classify Catalog Skills

  • You can add, update, or remove a business descriptor of type business capability or business driver to a catalog skill in the Item Catalog or by using HDL/HSDL.
  • The values for business domain are provided to you and they can't be modified. You can create values for business capability and business driver in the FND_LOOKUPs provided to you.
  • You can add or remove business capability and business driver to skills in any catalog, including the Oracle-delivered library, and they can be updated in the Item Catalog UI, or by using HCM  Data Loader or HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader.
  • You can add Domain to skills in any custom catalog. However the values are read-only in the Oracle Dynamic Skills Library

Update Curation Status for Multiple Skills

You can update the curation status for multiple skills at the same time. However, curation status can’t be updated for skills that are part of Oracle Dynamic Skills Library and Managed Skills Library.
