Redwood Redesigned Alerts for Succession Management

Leverage these Redwood redesigned alerts that are available for Succession Management and have a consistent user experience.

  • Redwood Alert for Candidate Moving to Incumbent Role: Sent when the candidate’s new job and department is the same as that of the succession plan incumbent.
  • Redwood Alert for Candidate Role Not Incumbent Role: Sent when the candidate’s new job and department isn’t the same as that of the succession plan incumbent.
  • Redwood Alert for Candidate Moving to Plan Job: Sent when the candidate’s new job is the same as the job for which the succession plan is created.
  • Redwood Alert for Candidate Moving to the Plan Position: Sent when the candidate’s new position is the same as the position for which the succession plan is created.
  • Redwood Alert for Candidate New Job Not Plan Job: Sent when the candidate’s new job isn’t the same as the job for which the succession plan is created.
  • Redwood Alert for Candidate New Position Not Plan Position: Sent when the candidate’s new position isn’t the same as the position for which the succession plan is created.
  • Redwood Alert for Incumbent Moving to a New Role: Sent when the role of the plan incumbent changes.

Note: The owners will be notified about the assignment changes only if alerts are enabled for them in the succession plan and if the candidate's assignment change has a past effective date.

By using these redesigned alerts, you can ensure that plan owners are informed of assignment changes of the candidates or incumbents so that they can take appropriate action.

Steps to Enable

To view the Redwood redesigned succession planning pages, you need to enable the profile options indicated in the table.

To enable these Redwood redesigned alerts:

  1. Go to Tools > Alerts Composer.
  2. Search for Succession Plan Assignment Change Alert.
  3. Enable the redwood redesigned alerts and disable the non-Redwood alerts.

For future-dated assignment changes or employment terminations, you need to schedule the Notify After Processing Effective Assignment Changes and Terminations process regularly. This ensures that alerts are sent for assignment changes or employment terminations that become effective on or before the date the process is run. Note that to run this process, you need to have a role that inherits the Run Global HR Processes function security privilege.
