We have enhanced the journeys UI by now displaying self-assigned journeys on the My Journeys and Assigned Journeys tabs based on the access level of users.

Configuring Journey Access Levels

When creating or editing a journey template, you can define its visibility by using the Access Level property:

  • Global journey template: Configure the access level from the Journey Setup page.

  • Personal journey template: Configure it directly in the Journeys app.

This table shows the access level options available in the Access Level list and their usage behavior.

Access Level Option Usage Use Case
Assignee Only

This option is selected if the journey is private.

  • The employee can self-assign and start the journey.
  • The journey is only visible to the employee who self-assigned it.
  • No other user, including managers or HR specialists, can access the journey.

This is the current default behavior for self-assigned private journeys.

Note: The configured display properties don't apply to a self-assigned private journey.

An employee starts a self-assigned career development journey. Only the employee sees it on the My Journeys tab and it's not visible to others.

User with Assignee or Journey Template Access

This option is selected if the journey is public.

  • The employee can self-assign and start the journey.
  • The journey can be accessed by the assignee and others with appropriate person or journey template security (for example, line managers or HR specialists)

Note: The configured display properties are applied to a self-assigned public journey.

An employee starts a self-assigned global compliance journey. The journey appears on the My Journeys and Assigned Journeys tabs and line managers and HR specialists can view progress of the journey.

This table shows how global and personal journeys are displayed on the My Journeys and Assigned Journeys tabs based on the access level configuration.
