Automated Maintenance of Stage Tables
When you run HCM Data Loader (HDL), the system checks for a schedule of the Delete HCM Data Loader Stage Table Data job. If none exists, it creates a daily schedule to delete expired HDL data sets. This process also deletes expired HSDL data sets stored in HDL staging tables.
With this enhancement, a new configuration parameter and an automated process are now available to help you maintain HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader (HSDL) staging tables more efficiently. When you run HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader (HSDL), the system checks whether a schedule exists for the Delete HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Stage Table Data process. If none exists, a new schedule is automatically created to run weekly.
This scheduled process uses the Days to Retain Data Sets Before Deleting parameter to purge data sets that haven't been processed within the specified time. The default value of this parameter is 60 days, but you can customize it on the HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Parameters tab of the Configure HCM Data Loader page available in the Data Exchange work area.
Days to Retain Data Sets Before Deleting parameter
This enhancement ensures consistent maintenance of HSDL staging tables and offers the flexibility to adjust the purge interval as needed.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
- When the HSDL data set is removed from the HDL staging tables, it can no longer be used for processing. It's only useful for reporting purposes when retained beyond its expiry period.
- If the HSDL purge process fails more than five consecutive times, the Cancel Failing Delete HCM Data Loader Stage Data Schedules process will cancel the Delete HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Stage Table Data schedule.
