AI Agent for HCM Data Loader

This enhancement introduces a preconfigured AI Agent Team for HCM Data Loader (HDL) called the Data Loader Advisor that you can embed within the Redwood Import and Load Data page. The AI Agent Team provides both document tools and business object tools, enabling you to access published documentation, supporting guides, DAT file examples, and to view data set statuses, error messages, and key metrics. 

In this release, the Data Loader Advisor can be embedded on the Import and Load Data page using a guided journey, where you can interact with the agent for guidance and insights related to data sets and documentation such as -

  • How do I load date-effective history? 
  • When should I use HSDL instead of HDL?
  • Which records do I have to supply to load a new employee?
  • How do I install the HSDL extension for generating spreadsheets?
  • Fetch the details of data set UCMFA2345000.
  • Show me the errors and error resolutions for UCMFA2999255.
  • Fetch the data sets I submitted in the last 3 days.
  • Why are my data loads slow?
  • Fetch the last 10 data sets for Worker objects.
  • Explain what this message means: You've provided a date-effective row that starts on 1/16/21 12:00 AM for an existing record that doesn't start until 1/16/22 12:00 AM.

To use this feature, you need to create a guided journey for the preconfigured Data Loader Advisor agent team and extend the Import and Load Data page to reference the guided journey.

For the document tools included in the Data Loader Advisor you need to run the Process Agent Documents process to ingest the documents.

This feature enhances HCM Data Loader by providing proactive support, personalized guidance, and quicker access to relevant information.

Steps to Enable and Configure

Before you start, set the following profile options to Y using the Manage Administrator Profile Values task in Setup and Maintenance.

  • ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_ENABLED 
  • ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_SETUP_REDWOOD_ENABLED 
  • ORA_ASE_SAS_INTEGRATION_ENABLED
  • ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED

Preparing the HCM data Loader AI Agent -

This preconfigured agent delivers documents that needs to be processed before the agent can answer document-based queries.

  1. Navigate to Tools > Scheduled Processes.
  2. Click Schedule New Process.
  3. Search for and select the process Prepare HCM Data Loader AI Agent.
  4. Click OK, and then Submit.
  5. On completion of this process, search for and select the process Process Agent Documents.
  6. Click OK, and then Submit.

Configuring Guided Journey -

  1. Navigate to My Client Groups.
  2. Click Show More under Quick Actions
  3. Click the Guided Journey quick action in the Journeys Setup area.
  4. Enter a name for the guided journey and click Create Draft.
  5. Under Tasks, click Add.
  6. Enter the following details:
Task Name

Text that will appear in the guided journey banner at the top of the page. For example:

Have questions about using HCM Data Loader or need a summary of recent data sets?
Task Description

An optional description that will appear below the task name in the guided journey banner. For example

Get guidance on using HDL, generate sample dat files, and review the status and errors of recent uploads.

  1. Make a note of the guided journey code and guided journey task code.
  2. Save and activate your guided journey.

Embedding the HDL AI Agent on the Import and Load Data page - 

  1. Navigate to Import and Load Data from the Data Exchange work area.
  2. From the Settings and Actions menu in the global header area, click Edit Page in Visual Builder Studio.
  3. Create or select an existing project.
  4. Select Express mode in VB Studio.
  5. Specify your guided journey code and guided journey task code generated in the last step as values for the page properties guidedJourneyCode and guidedJourneyTaskCodes.
  6. Click Preview to test interactions with your agent.
  7. Follow your organization guide to publish your page customizations.

Note: Your environment must have the appropriate services for Oracle Applications Platform deployed. For more information, see FAQ2521 on My Oracle Cloud Support.

Set the Enable Security Console External Application Integration (ORA_ASE_SAS_INTEGRATION_ENABLED) profile option to Yes and enable permission groups for the appropriate roles. See Access Requirements for AI Agent Studio.
