New Unpaid Break Display Field
The Redwood pages for absence entry and calendar now display unpaid break information when a worker’s absence is entered. Let’s assume a worker’s 12 hour shift starts from 7AM to 7PM, and it includes a 30 minute unpaid break. When the worker enters an absence for this entire shift, the system automatically deducts the unpaid break from the absence duration. So, the absence duration is calculated to be 11.5 hours. With the display of the unpaid break duration, it becomes easy to understand how this calculation was done.
If a worker initially schedules a partial day absence and then later modifies it to a full day absence, the system doesn’t deduct the unpaid break duration. Similarly, if the worker modifies the default absence start and end time, the unpaid break duration isn’t deducted.
The unpaid break duration is displayed only for the absences that were created using the Redwood pages after the 26B update.
You won’t see the unpaid break duration on the Absence Management Redwood pages for an absence that was created using the time card.
Unpaid breaks are now displayed when entering or viewing absences for workers with shifts that include an unpaid break. This makes it easier to understand the absence duration calculation.
