Update to Contributory Salary for Oman Citizens Working in Saudi Arabia

The contributory salary for an Omani citizen working in Saudi Arabia can be a variable amount, rather than a fixed amount, however the contributory salary has been set.

Flexible contributory salary source and overrides

  • If a contributory salary is an agreed amount, enter it as an override; overrides can be updated during the calendar year.

  • If no override exists, the system uses the country/sector-specific contributory salary balance (for example, Oman Employee Private Sector Contributory Salary Base).

  • If the country/sector balance is empty, the system uses a configured user-defined formula; if no formula exists, it derives the value from amounts marked Subject to Social Insurance.

  • Derived or overridden values are written to the contributory salary balance and used for both employee and employer contribution calculations.

Legislative compliance and flexibility to ensure the correct contributory salary is used throughout the year.

Steps to enable and configure

  • Review and, if needed, enter fixed contributory salary overrides for affected employees on the Social Insurance calculation card.
  • Ensure country/sector contributory salary balances are populated where applicable.
  • Configure or verify any user-defined formulas used to derive the contributory salary.
  • Confirm earnings subclassifications exclude any pay components that should not be included in social insurance calculations.
