AI Agent: Data Load Advisor - Initiate HDL
Extend the existing Data Loader Advisor agent, which already answers questions about HCM Data Loader documentation and existing data sets to use natural-language requests to start HCM Data Loader processing. Provide either a non-empty ZIP file or an Oracle WebCenter Content ID for a file in the HCM Data Loader import directory.
You can specify supported processing overrides in your request:
- Delete the source file.
- Set the number of concurrent import threads.
- Set the number of concurrent load threads.
- Set the maximum error percentage for import and load processing.
- Choose whether to import and load the file or import it only.
After submission, the agent returns the request ID, Oracle WebCenter Content ID, and a link to the Import and Load Data page.
Examples
- To initiate processing for a file already stored in Oracle WebCenter, request: “Initiate HDL for UCMFA224124.”
- After uploading a ZIP file to the agent, you can request: “Load this file, delete the source file, and stop processing if import or load failures exceed 10%.”
Start and tailor HCM data load processing conversationally without navigating away from the Data Load Advisor AI Agent.

- After that process completes, select Process Agent Documents, then select OK and Submit.

- Extend the Import and Load Data page:
- In the Data Exchange work area, open Import and Load Data.
- From Settings and Actions, select Edit Page in Visual Builder Studio.
- Create or select a project.
- Set the guidedJourneyCode and guidedJourneyTaskCodes page properties to the codes you recorded.
- Preview the page, then publish the customization according to your organization’s process.
Tips and considerations
- The agent validates only that the submitted file is a non-empty ZIP file or that the referenced Oracle WebCenter Content ID can be found in the HCM Data Loader import directory.
- If no file or Oracle WebCenter Content ID is provided, the agent prompts you to provide one. It also explains when the file format is invalid or the content ID can't be found.
- The agent doesn't transform or validate the data in the ZIP file.
- Initial setup is needed only when the Data Loader Advisor hasn't already been configured. After every upgrade, run Prepare HCM Data Loader AI Agent and then Process Agent Documents to uptake the latest agent definition and documentation.
