AI Agent: Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor Monitor Data Sets

Extend the existing Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor agent, which already allows you to upload csv files and initiate HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader (HSDL). You can now use natural language to ask questions about submitted HSDL data sets, including:

  • Data set status.
  • Load progress, such as the number of objects loaded.
  • Errors and suggested resolutions.
  • Failed spreadsheet rows. You can also download these rows to a CSV file that includes their status and messages..
  • Historical data set information, such as the largest data sets, data sets created by a user, or data sets created with a specified template.

The agent returns relevant data set details in a table when appropriate, including the data set name, total row count, creation date, template name, execution status, business object, and a link to review the HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader spreadsheet.

For errors, the agent returns the message type, the process that raised the error, the message text, and the number of occurrences.

Quickly review data set progress, history, and errors through conversational requests, helping you investigate and resolve HSDL processing issues more efficiently. This is particularly beneficial for Mac users who can't access HSDL spreadsheets.

Steps to enable and configure

Complete the following procedure after every upgrade to uptake the latest agent definition and documentation. However, if you haven't yet implemented the Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor agent, also complete the one-time setup steps below:

  1. Navigate to Tools > Scheduled Processes.
  2. Select Schedule New Process.
  3. Search for and select Prepare HCM Data Loader AI Agent, then select OK and Submit.
  4. After that process completes, select Process Agent Documents, then select OK and Submit.

One-Time Setup

Complete these steps only if you haven’t already enabled the Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor AI agent.

  1. Enable the following profiles in the Manage Administrator Profile Values task in Setup and Maintenance:
    • ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_ENABLED
    • ORA_PER_GUIDED_JOURNEYS_SETUP_REDWOOD_ENABLED
    • ORA_ASE_SAS_INTEGRATION_ENABLED
    • ORA_HCM_VBCS_PWA_ENABLED
       
  2. Configure the Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor guided journey:
    • In My Client Groups, select Show More and search for the Guided Journey quick action.
    • Create a Guided Journey and add a task with these values:

      Task Name

      A name that appears in the guided journey banner, such as: 

      "Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor"
      Task Description

      An optional description that appears below the task name, such as:

      "Get guidance on using HSDL, upload CSV files and initiate HSDL uploads, and review the status and errors of recent uploads."

    • Record the Guided Journey code and Guided Journey task code, then save and activate the Guided Journey.
       
  3. Extend the Run Spreadsheet Loader and Recent Spreadsheet Loads pages:
    • In the Data Exchange work area, open Run Spreadsheet Data Loader or Recent Spreadsheet Loads.
    • From Settings and Actions, select Edit Page in Visual Builder Studio.
    • Create or select a project.
    • Set the guidedJourneyCode and guidedJourneyTaskCodes page properties to the codes you recorded.
    • Preview the page, then publish the customization according to your organization’s process.
    • Repeat these steps for the other page if you want the Spreadsheet Loader Advisor to be available on both pages.

Tips and considerations

  • Initial setup is needed only when the Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor hasn't already been configured. After every upgrade, run Prepare HCM Data Loader AI Agent and then Process Agent Documents to uptake the latest agent definition and documentation.
  • Responses include only the data sets identified by your question.
  • Use a data set name, template name, or other relevant detail in your question to refine the results.

Access requirements

To access the HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor agent team, users need the Access HCM Spreadsheet Data Loader Advisor role:

The agent provides details of only the data sets you are authorized to work with. Access is controlled by the role configuration on the template used to create the data set.
