Payroll Balance Migration Agent

Use the Payroll Balance Migration Agent to convert Bahrain balance data from a UCM source file into HDL balance initialization files. The agent validates the supplied details, reads the uploaded file, generates and uploads the HDL ZIP files, submits the import and load, and returns the batch name, status, and follow-up links.

Prepare one row for each balance value in an Excel, CSV, tab-separated, or pipe-delimited file. Include clear column headers, such as Person Number, Balance Name, Dimension Name, and Value. You can also provide assignment, term, context, and AreaOne values when applicable.

Reduce manual preparation of balance initialization files and improve consistency when migrating Bahrain payroll balances. The generated batch and load-status information supports a controlled validation and transfer process.

Steps to enable and configure

  1. Create a source file with one header row and one row for each balance value. Do not include subtotal or grand-total rows.

  2. Upload the file to UCM. Set the account to hcm/dataloader/import, then copy the generated Content ID.

  3. Run the agent with the Bahrain localization details, including Payroll, UploadDate, LDG, and the UCM input details. For Excel sources, include the UCM ID, ReportName, and Type.

  4. After the HDL import and load complete, open Submit a Flow or Payroll Activity Center. Submit Load Initial Balances in VALIDATE mode using the returned batch name.

  5. Review the validation results, then submit Load Initial Balances again in TRANSFER mode for the same batch.

Tips and considerations

  • Use one authoritative source for each person, balance, dimension, and context combination; do not provide overlapping files unless the data is additive.
  • For monthly values with Dimension Name set to Month, the agent creates Relationship Year to Date rows by summing matching values.
  • The agent uses one balance context pair: Context Name and Context Value.
  • Do not manually create or upload the HDL ZIP file; the agent generates, uploads, and submits it.
