Ability to Mask SSNs on Product Reports
For increased security measures, we have now included the ability to mask Social Security Numbers (including when the SSN is present in the Financial Award ID) when running all product reports.
The following masking options are included as run parameters:
- Semi Masked, which will display only the last four digits of a social security number
- Fully Masked, which will hide the entire social security number
- No Mask, which will display all 9 digits
This capability gives you the ability to control how sensitive data, in this case the student's social security number, is displayed when rendering product reports. Allowing for scheduled reports to be generated with increased security measures in place for automated delivery.
Steps to Enable
Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.
Offering: Student Financial Aid
- If you currently run a product report or have a product report scheduled that includes a social security number, you will need to update the new run parameter to fit your specific needs for the report.
