Capture V4/V5 Identification Method within ISIR Verification Task
On June 6th, the Department of Education released an Electronic Announcement revising the identification verification process for students selected for V4 and V5; schools must now confirm a student's identity through in-person meetings, conference calls, or third-party verification involving the student. Earlier updates to the Student Financial Aid baseline configuration enabled the collection of identity verification details through a dedicated document; with this release, we are expanding the ISIR Verification Task to directly capture the required identification data.
Task updates
- ISIR Verification Task
- Task will now include an optional field to determine how the school verified the student's identification
- Identification Confirmation
- In-Person
- Via Conference Call
- Third Party Verification
- Blank

Report Updates
- The Verification Results Report includes the following updates:
- Report remains the same for ISIRs received prior to 6/6/2025
- For ISIRs received on or after 6/6/2025
- Check for the receipt of an "Identity Verification Method" document OR the value entered in the Verification Task Queue
- If the value on the document or task queue is:
- In-Person the value on the report will display a 1
- Conference Call the value on the report will display a 2
- Third Party Verification the value on the report will display 2
- If neither the document is present nor a completed ISIR Verification task (or the task was completed with a blank value) the value on the report will display a 5
- If the value on the document or task queue is:
- Check for the receipt of an "Identity Verification Method" document OR the value entered in the Verification Task Queue
- If a document has been received AND the task was completed with a value, the report will pull the value that was completed within the task queue and not the document if the values are different.
This feature allows you to streamline compliance of Department of Education's updated verification requirements by efficiently capturing student identity verification methods within the ISIR Verification task.
