Support ED ISIR Code Updates for 2025-26 and 2026-27

On November 14, 2025, the U.S. Department of Education issued significant updates to Volumes 4, 5, and 7 of the FAFSA Specifications Guide for the 2025–26 and 2026–27 award years. To align with these changes, the product has been updated to support new comment and reject codes, ensuring accurate processing and enabling institutions to configure automation within ISIR processing.

New Comment Codes

  • 331: 
    • Our systems indicated that your StudentAid.gov account may be compromised, so we're unable to calculate your federal student aid eligibility at this time.
    • Resolution Required: Yes
  • 332:
    • The StudentAid.gov account for your parent contributor may be compromised. We can't calculate your federal student aid eligibility until they recover their account. 
    • Resolution Required: Yes
  • 333:
    • The StudentAid.gov account for your parent spouse or partner contributor may be compromised. We can't calculate your federal student aid eligibility until the contributor recovers their account.
    • Resolution Required: Yes
  • 334:
    • The StudentAid.gov account for your student spouse contributor may be compromised. We can't calculate your federal student aid eligibility until the contributor recovers their account. 
    • Resolution Required: Yes

Updated Comment Codes

  • 032: Comment code and required action have been updated.
    • Resolution Required: Now True
  • 068: Comment code and required action have been updated.
    • Resolution Required: Now True
  • 113: Reason for comment code updated.

New Reject Codes

  • 70: Student PAS Compromise Flag is TRUE (linked to Comment Code 331)
  • 71: Parent PAS Compromise Flag is TRUE (linked to Comment Code 332)
  • 72: Parent Spouse or Partner PAS Compromise Flag is TRUE (linked to Comment Code 333)
  • 73: Student Spouse PAS Compromise Flag is TRUE (linked to Comment Code 334)

Use the Opt In UI to enable this feature. For instructions, refer to the Optional Uptake of New Features section of this document.

  • Download Baseline Configuration Release Extract from the Cloud Customer Connect release post
  • Review the updates to baseline configuration related to this feature
  • Make applicable updates to ISIR configuration workbooks 
  • Upload through the configuration loader in SFA

Tips And Considerations

  • Please review our baseline configuration updates to automate processing for the new ISIR updates.
    • Updates were made to the ISIR_C_CODES workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
      • Comment Codes 331, 332, 333 and 334 were added and autocode clearing groovy was included
      • Comment Codes 032 and 068 were updated to include new Auto_Code_Clearing Logic
      Updates were made to the ISIR_REJECT_TO_C_CODES workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
      • Reject codes 70,71,72 and 73 were added and linked to Comments Codes 331, 332, 333 and 334 respectively
    • Updates were made to the ISIR_REJECT_CODES Workbook for both 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Award Years
      • Reject Codes 70,71,72 and 73 were added
  • See Support of the Department of Education’s November ISIR updates posted on Cloud Customer Connect on how to resolve students that have received ISIRs with the new Comment Codes prior to the release. A Query was also provided to find any ISIRs that contain a C-Code the new and updated Comment Codes
