One of your ideas has been delivered from your suggestion.RPLS - Avoid Space Between Letters of an Abbreviation

This Optional Feature, when enabled, provides enhanced handling of the period punctuation mark (.) during restricted party screening. Currently, GTM uses the existing ‘gtm.rpsservice.punctuationmarks’ property to identify which punctuation should be removed from both the party and the restricted party prior to screening. When this property is configured, the punctuation is replaced by a space.

With this enhancement, GTM can better handle instances where a period (.) is contained in the party or the restricted party and is aimed at improving match quality. GTM still uses the ‘gtm.rpsservice.punctuationmarks’ property to determine which punctuation marks should be removed from the party and restricted party.

In addition, when the optional feature is enabled, GTM performs the following in the logic:

  • Replace all periods with spaces
  • Remove redundant spaces (two or more spaces are converted to one space)
  • Handle instances where individual letters should be concatenated (eg. U.S.A. is converted to USA for screening)
  • Remove exclude words
  • Perform restricted party screening

For example:

  • In the party manager, Company Name = Grand U.S.A. Tractors L. L. C.
  • In the logic, GTM converts the Company Name = Grand USA Tractors LLC. The converted Company Name, which exists in the logic, is used to screen against the restricted party. If periods also exist in the restricted party, the same logic applies when the optional feature is enabled.

Business Benefit

Improving match quality reduces the number of false positives that need to be reviewed by users, saving time and effort.
