Improvements to Split Inbound LPN

In order to simplify inventory transfers and streamline downstream warehouse operations, we’ve made the following updates in RF Split Inbound LPN:

  • Prevent creation of multiple inventory records for same SKU with different Pack/Case Quantity
  • Skip item scan prompt for single SKU LPNs

These improvements will help prevent mixing multiple inventory records for the same SKU with pack or case quantity variations.

PREVENT CREATION OF MULTIPLE INVENTORY RECORDS FOR SAME SKU WITH DIFFERENT PACK/CASE QUANTITY

Now, when you transfer inventory for the same SKU from the From (source) LPN to To (destination) LPN and the pack or case quantity combination does not tally, the system will display the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".

The following table shows the system behavior based on the Split Mode setting:

Split Mode setting

Condition

Behavior

“By SKU” and “to-lpn-confirmation-mode” is set to "Before SKU scan"

The inventory contains a single SKU and there is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination between the From LPN and To LPN.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%". You won’t be prompted for a SKU scan.

The From LPN has multiple SKUs and there is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination between the SKU(s) common to the source and destination LPN.

When you confirm the To LPN, the SKU prompt is displayed. On ending the SKU scan, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".

“By SKU” and “to-lpn-confirmation-mode” is set to "Confirm for each split"

The inventory contains a single SKU and you confirm the split for that SKU but there is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination between the From LPN and To LPN.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".

The From LPN has multiple SKUs and you confirm the SKUs but there is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination between the SKUs common to the source and destination LPN.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".

“All SKUs”

There is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination for the SKU(s) between the From LPN and To LPN.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message ("Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".) for the first SKU having the discrepancy.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%". You won’t be prompted for a SKU scan.

“By Inventory” and “to-lpn-confirmation-mode” is set to "Confirm for each split"

You confirm the split for SKU(s) in an inventory but there is a discrepancy in the pack/case quantity combination between the From LPN and To LPN.

After you scan the To LPN, the system displays the error message: "Pack/Case quantity mismatch between LPN's for SKU %item_code%".

SKIP ITEM SCAN PROMPT FOR SINGLE SKU LPNS

We’ve updated and simplified the behavior for Split Inbound LPN when the split-mode is set to "By SKU." Now, when split-mode is set to "By SKU":

  • You are taken to the destination LPN prompt directly without a SKU scan if the scanned LPN has only a single SKU and you should be able to transfer inventory.
  • You are taken to the destination LPN prompt directly without a SKU scan. If you transfer the last remaining SKU, post transferring, you should not be prompted for SKU Scan. Instead, the Destination LPN prompt will be refreshed with information for the last remaining SKU.
