IMPORTANT Actions and Considerations
PASSWORD COMPLEXITY
We have strengthened the password complexity rules for users managed locally within Oracle Warehouse Management. The main change relates to the minimum password length configured in the Company Security Configuration screen accessed from the Company screen.
- Currently the minimum default password length is 6.
- Company Administrators can increase it to a higher number, but they cannot reduce it.
- Beginning with 24A, the default for new customers will be 8.
- Administrators will be able to reduce it to as low as 8 and to increase it as before.
- Beginning with 24A, the setting for existing customers, if it is below 8, will be automatically updated to 8.
This will not affect existing passwords, but the next time a user changes their password after 24A, it will have to meet the configured minimum for the company. Users managed via Oracle IDCS or customer provided IDPs are not affected by this change.
NOTE: See Password Requirements for additional information.
DISCONTINUING SUPPORT FOR NON-SECURE PROTOCOL
In the UI screen "Output Interface Configuration", output interface targets with non-secure Interface Protocols "LogFire File Transfer Location" and "External FTP" will be discontinued, and new output targets cannot be added using these two protocols. Any output targets configured prior to the 24A Quarterly Update that were added using these protocols will continue to work. Please plan accordingly if you have used these protocols in the past.
