Improvements to Global Menu and Default Group Permissions

To provide additional access control for Warehouse Management Administrator users, the default global menu is now restricted to users with ADMINISTRATOR Role only. Users with lower roles will not be able to see the default menus by default. This allows administrators to control exactly what transactions users have access to.

A new company parameter LEGACY_ALLOW_DEFAULT_MENUS_FOR_ALL has been added, which can be set to Yes to get the earlier behavior back.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This parameter can be used to revert to the previous default menu behavior. However, this parameter will only be available for two releases and will be removed after that, when the new behavior will be the only option. We urge all users to adopt the new behavior as it is more secure and prevents users from having access to screens that were not assigned to them.

The default global (UI and RF) menus are not displayed for non-Admin users.

If a non-ADMIN role user without a default group, or with a group with a blank menu logs in, no menu is displayed and a warning message appears "No default group set or group has no menu."

Set to Yes

Gives default global (UI and RF) menu access to non-admin users. This option will only be available for another two releases.

All default groups are renamed with a suffix _LEGACY.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
