Table Column Resizing
This feature addresses the "squeezing" effect experienced previously when you resized your table columns within the Enhanced Workbench.
In the example below, the UDA1 field needs to be resized/enlarged so that the content is fully visible.
Column Requires Resizing
When you drag the column to the right to resize the column the columns to the right of the column being resized are not impacted (no squeezing/expanding), now - as expected, all of the columns to the right of the column being adjusted shift to the right (or left) when the column is adjusted. In the example below, the UDA1 column size has been increased so that the content is now visible and all the columns to the right have remained the same size and have been shifted to the right.
Column Resized All Columns Shifted, No Columns "Squeezed"
Previously - the same adjustment would have resulted in the "squeezing" of the column to the right of the column being adjusted. In the example below - from 24C - the UDA1 column is going to be resized so that the content is visible.
Previous Behavior Column Size Adjustment
When the UDA1 column is adjusted, size increased for this example, the column directly to the right, REM1, is "squeezed" to make room for the UDA1 column adjustment. This feature addresses that undesirable behavior.
Previous Behavior Column Size Adjustment - "Squeezing"
This feature provides a frequently requested usability change in the behavior of the column resizing feature in the Enhanced Workbench Tables.
Steps to Enable
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips And Considerations
Note that this feature represents a change in the behavior from what was provided previously. This change is enabled by the underlying infrastructure used to provide this functionality, the new column resizing behavior is the only behavior that is supported, the previous column squeeze behavior when resizing a column is no longer supported.
