Improved Processing for Zone Status Re-Assignment
A new Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) admission and/or status designation declaration, used solely to reassign the zone status of existing inventory in the FTZ, is considered an entry declaration into the FTZ program for the new quantity with the updated zone status. Simultaneously, this declaration should trigger the deduction of the corresponding quantity from the balance of the previous entry declaration’s inventory record from which the quantity is being adjusted.
To identify the prior declaration from which the quantity should be deducted, the exit profile in the trade incentive program has been enhanced with a new field called Prior Declaration Line Saved Query. This field identifies the declaration line and the corresponding inventory record from which quantities should be reassigned to the new zone status. As a result, these quantities are deducted from the prior declaration’s inventory record and transferred to the new designation declaration’s inventory record.
Below is an example of the two applicable profiles you may create for that purpose. In this case of a zone status re-assignment declaration, the application will apply the US FTZ CHANGE STATUS Entry profile to create the new inventory record and the US FTZ STATUS DESIGNATION Exit profile to deduct the quantity for the prior declaration line’s inventory record.

In this example, a reference number in the declaration line is used to indicate the prior declaration line from where quantities should be deducted. When performing the Manage Inventory action for the designation declaration, a new inventory record is created with the quantity from the declaration line with the new zone status, while the same quantity is deducted from the inventory record of the prior declaration line:
