Configure DPI for Printers

Your warehouse probably deploys an array of printers capable of handling varying levels of print quality. This feature lets you assign custom DPI values for printers in WMS, which eliminates the need to change the DPI of the physical printers.

So now, make use of the new field called “DPI” on the edit pane of Printer UI to resize label or document templates dynamically at print time. The field takes your inputs of whole number values (i.e, 0, 1, 2, 3…) to consider the resizing.

NOTE:

  • By default, the DPI value is 0 and the system considers the template’s DPI for printing. This means that pre-existing functionality is maintained and there is no dynamic scaling of the templates being printed.
  • If there is a difference between the DPI values set in Printer UI and the template’s DPI itself, then, the precedence is given to the DPI value set in the Printer UI. However, if the DPI values match, resizing is not considered since there is no discrepancy.
  • Web Service add-on labels, such as those downloaded from your carrier (like FedEx and UPS), are not supported for rescaling.

Steps to Enable

To resize label or document templates:

  1. From the edit pane of the Printer UI, go to the DPI field.
  2. Enter required whole number values (i.e, 0, 1, 2, 3…).
  3. Click "Save".
