Support for Destination LPN Retention during Split Inbound LPN

Warehouse users often split inventory from multiple source inbound LPNs into the same destination LPN. For example, a user may consolidate partial quantities from several inbound LPNs into one destination LPN for putaway, inspection, or downstream processing.

To reduce repeated scans, WMS can retain the destination LPN after the user ends the current source LPN. The user can then scan the next source LPN and continue splitting inventory into the same destination LPN. This is controlled by the newly introduced retain-to-lpn-upon-ending-from-lpn screen parameter.

For Example

Let's say, a user wants to move inventory from three source LPNs into one destination LPN:

From LPN  To LPN
LPN-A LPN D
LPN-B
LPN-C

The user scans LPN-D once as the To LPN. After completing the split from LPN-A, the user ends the From LPN. WMS keeps LPN-D as the To LPN, so the user can scan LPN-B and continue. The same process applies for LPN-C. When the user finishes using LPN-D, user can use CTRL-T: End To LPN to clear it and scan a different destination LPN.

Steps to enable and configure

  1. Go to the Mobile Split Inbound LPN screen parameters.
  2. Set to-lpn-confirmation-mode to Confirm before Sku Scan.
  3. Set retain-to-lpn-upon-ending-from-lpn to Yes.
  4. Save the screen parameter configuration.
  5. In Mobile Split Inbound LPN, scan the To LPN.
  6. Scan the From LPN and split the required inventory into the To LPN.
  7. End the From LPN. WMS clears the From LPN and retains the To LPN.
  8. Scan the next From LPN to continue splitting inventory into the same To LPN.
  9. Use CTRL-T: End To LPN only when you are finished with the current To LPN or need to scan a different To LPN.

When to Use CTRL-T: End To LPN

Use CTRL-T: End To LPN when:

  • You are finished splitting inventory into the current To LPN.

  • You need to split inventory into a different To LPN.

  • You scanned the wrong To LPN and need to clear it.

NOTE: Do not use CTRL - T, if you want to continue splitting inventory from additional From LPNs into the same To LPN.
