Enhanced self-service status recalculation

In certain cases, warehouse transactions can leave a record in a status that no longer reflects its underlying task, packing, loading, or receiving activity. These status inconsistencies can prevent downstream processing and previously require a support request or data correction.

Self-service status-recalculation actions enable warehouse users to correct affected records immediately—without support tickets, backend data fixes, or operational delays. Access is permission-controlled and applied to each selected record.

In 26D, we’ve introduced self-service enhancement actions to recalculate the status of cycle count adjustments, outbound license plate numbers (OBLPNs), and inbound shipments based on their current operational data. You can now resolve any inconsistent transaction statuses directly from Oracle Warehouse Management Cloud. Authorized users can now recalculate eligible records from the applicable Redwood page.

Introducing recalculate status in cycle count adjustment

In scenarios when customers use deferred cycle counting feature, the cycle count adjustment record stays in invalid In Progress Status even after underlying task is completed.

  • A new Recalculate Status action button is available on the Cycle Count Adjustment UI and Redwood as self-service action that helps correct the adjustment status without requiring a backend data correction.

Example: A cycle count task is complete, but its adjustment remains In Progress. If the adjustment contains a variance and is eligible for automatic approval, recalculation changes its status to Approved.

  • A new group permission, CC Adjustment Hdr / Can recalculate cc adjustment status is introduced to control access for non-administrative users.
  • The Recalculate Status action is enabled only when all of the following conditions are met:
    • User has permission
    • The user selects one CC Adjustment record.
    • The selected CC Adjustment is associated with a CC Task.
    • The selected CC Adjustment is in In Progress status.
  • When the associated task is complete, WMS updates the adjustment to No Variance, Pending, or Approved, depending on the variance and automatic-approval eligibility. If the task isn't complete, the adjustment status remains unchanged.
  • Also, a new Task Status column is added to help identify adjustments that remain In Progress after their associated tasks are complete.

Recalculate OBLPN Status in Outbound LPN

There maybe instance where an OBLPN remains in Loaded status even after its load or manifest assignment is removed or becomes invalid. This can prevent users from performing operations such as unloading or cancelling the OBLPN. You can now recalculate an outbound license plate number (OBLPN) that remains in Loaded status when it isn't assigned to a valid load or manifest or when its assigned load is in an invalid status. This enhancement expands the existing self-service action, enabling warehouse users to correct stale OBLPN statuses and resume applicable downstream activities.

NOTE: OBLPN recalculation considers the existing ASSIGN_LOAD_AT_CREATE_OBLPN and ASSIGN_LOAD_WHEN_PACKED facility parameters when applicable to LTL and TL flows.

The existing Recalculate OBLPN Status action is further enhanced to support Loaded OBLPNs in the following scenarios.

OBLPN Without a Valid Load or Manifest Assignment

  • When a Loaded OBLPN isn't assigned to a valid load or manifest, WMS evaluates its allocation and packing state and assigns the appropriate status.
  • Depending on the current data, WMS can update the OBLPN to Outbound Created, In Packing, Packed, or Cancelled.
  • Existing facility configuration can also result in the OBLPN being assigned to a valid load when applicable.

OBLPN Assigned to a Load in an Invalid Status

When a Loaded OBLPN is assigned to a load in Created, Checked In, or Cancelled status, WMS recalculates the OBLPN using its allocation, packing, and packing-tolerance information. Depending on the current data, WMS updates the OBLPN to Outbound Created, In Packing, Packed, or Cancelled.

NOTE: This function valuates the facility parameters ASSIGN_LOAD_AT_CREATE_OBLPN and ASSIGN_LOAD_WHEN_PACKED for LTL/TL flow. WMS doesn't recalculate the OBLPN when it is assigned to a load in a valid operational status.

OBLPN Assigned to a Load in a Valid Status

WMS doesn't recalculate the OBLPN when its assigned load is in one of these valid operational statuses:

  • Loaded
  • Loading Started
  • Close Load in Progress
  • Ship Load in Progress
  • Shipped
  • Checked Out

Recalculate status in Inbound Shipment UI

There are instances where an IB Shipment remains in Receiving Started status after a receiving transaction is abandoned or interrupted before the container is ended. In such cases, you can now recalculate the status of an inbound shipment that remains in Receiving Started status. This enhancement extends an existing self-service action for users to correct the shipment status from the IB Shipment UI.

  • The existing Change Shipment Status action is renamed Recalculate Shipment Status to describe its function more accurately.
  • The action button is enabled only when a single shipment header record is selected in Receiving Started status. Existing support for shipments in Locked for Receiving status remains available.
  • After the user confirms the action, WMS evaluates shipped and received quantities and determines the appropriate status:
    • In Transit: When Shipped quantity is greater than zero, and received quantity is zero.
    • Receiving Started: Some shipment details have received quantities below their shipped quantities. When Total Received quantity is zero and if any shipment detail has Received quantity lesser than Shipped quantity.
    • Receiving Complete: When Total Received quantity is zero and if all shipment detail has Received quantity greater or equal to Shipped quantity.
    • Cancelled: When both Total shipped and total Received quantity are zero.
  • On successfully updating the re-calculated status, the system display "Changed shipment %s status to %s" message. If not, then displays "No status change was required for this shipment."

Steps to enable and configure

To enable the Recalculate Status on the Cycle Count Adjustment:

  1. Assign the CC Adjustment Hdr / Can recalculate cc adjustment status permission to the appropriate user groups.
  2. Open the Cycle Count Adjustment UI.
  3. Select one eligible adjustment in In Progress status that is associated to a CC Task.
  4. Select Recalculate Status.

To enable the Recalculate OBLPN Status on the Outbound LPN UI:

  1. Open the Outbound LPN UI.
  2. Select an OBLPN in Loaded status.
  3. Select Recalculate OBLPN Status.
  4. Confirm that WMS assigns the status appropriate for the OBLPN’s current allocation, packing, and load information.

To enable Recalculate Shipment Status on IB Shipment UI:

  1. Assign the existing IB Shipment/Recalculate ASN Status permission to the appropriate user groups.
  2. Open the IB Shipment UI.
  3. Select one eligible shipment.
  4. Select Recalculate Shipment Status.
  5. Confirm the action when prompted.
