Block Redirect Link Requests with Invalid Authentication Hashes

With an effort to enhance the protection of links, Eloqua will be enforcing an authentication hash parameter to redirect links to prevent any unauthorized alterations and potential redirections to unwarranted websites. This functionality applied for redirect links created after the Eloqua 24C release.

Eloqua will now:

  • Automatically generate and add an authentication hash parameter to links at email send time and landing page load time
  • Automatically block redirect requests with invalid authentication hashes
  • Prevent redirect links from being altered externally
  • Enhance redirect link protection through advanced authentication

Following the Eloqua 24C release (Aug 17, 2024), you can expect any links included in an email to automatically have the authentication hash parameter. Any redirect links will be blocked if the authentication hash is invalid.

Starting January 15th, 2025, any redirect links in an email sent prior to the Eloqua 24C release will be blocked as they do not contain the authentication hash parameter.

Steps to Enable
