New Security Group Action - Import Asset Permissions

Import Asset Permissions Action is a simple way to give a new security group the same access another group already has without touching every individual asset.

  • Bulk action lets administrators quickly grant security groups access to existing Eloqua assets (emails, landing pages, etc.) in a single consolidated step.
  • By importing permissions from one or more source security groups, administrators can rapidly onboard new groups or align access rights following team or organizational changes.
  • This action is designed to save significant administrative time when aligning permissions across complex asset libraries.
  • This action will not remove any existing permissions from the target group

Steps to Enable and Configure

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

To start using the new import asset permission: 

  • Pick the group you want to copy from, choose the permission types, and the new group instantly gets that access across all existing assets.
    • Go to Settings > Users > Security Groups > Import Asset Permission.
      • Select the target security group (the group you want to grant new asset permissions).
      • Click the “Import Asset Permission” action.
      • Choose one or more source groups whose permissions (view, edit, delete, etc.) you wish to replicate for the selected security group.
      • Specify which permissions to import; only selected permissions are added.
      • The target security group instantly receives the same permissions to all assets as the source group(s) currently hold.
  • This action cannot remove any existing permissions from the target group—use standard permission management for revocation or cleanup.
  • Permission changes are logged for compliance; ensure audit trails are reviewed periodically.
  • Only users with Asset Manager privileges can use this function. 
  • Permissions take effect immediately but may require a refresh or re-login for changes to be visible in user sessions.
