Groovy Script Validator Tool No Longer Available

In the May 2026 (26.05) Cloud EPM update, a new version of the Groovy engine was introduced with stricter validation rules. As a result, some existing Groovy business rules that previously worked may now fail validation and require script updates. To ensure compatibility, customers were required to validate their custom Groovy rules before the 26.05 update was deployed.

The Groovy Script Validation tool was provided to support this validation process. Since the migration is now complete and the tool has served its intended purpose, Groovy Script Validation has been removed.

If you haven't already, check your Groovy business rules in Calculation Manager.

Applies to: Profitability and Cost Management, Close Management and Consolidation, FreeForm, Planning and Budgeting, Tax Reporting

Recommended Action: Validate all Groovy business rules in Calculation Manager. Correct any scripts that fail validation, redeploy the updated rules, and fully test the rules.

To validate Groovy scripts:

  1. Open Calculation Manager:
    • Click the Navigation Menu.
    • Under Create and Manage, click Rules.
  2. Expand EPM Cloud.
  3. Right-click the row for the Cloud EPM service, and from the Action Menu, select Validate
  4. Review the validation status. If any rules fail validation, update the affected scripts, redeploy the rules, and test the rules to confirm that they work as expected with the updated Groovy engine.

If you need extra time to complete these tasks, you can delay the Groovy engine update for up to three months by using the EPM Automate skipUpdate command or by creating a service request to Oracle.

Business Benefit: Administrators can validate, correct, and redeploy Groovy business rules in Calculation Manager, which keeps rule maintenance in a single tool.
