Deprecation of Public Sector Accounting

As Oracle Permitting and Licensing has developed there is a greater demand to generate accounting from Oracle Subledger Accounting rather than Oracle Public Sector Accounting that was initially released. Due to this demand and the robust options and features in Oracle Subledger Accounting, we are deprecating Oracle Public Sector Accounting and offering only Oracle Subledger Accounting moving forward.

Oracle Subledger Accounting is available to all Oracle Permitting and Licensing customers regardless of a license for Oracle ERP Cloud. Oracle Subledger Accounting is more powerful and has extensive options that fulfill the needs of our customers.

Oracle Permitting and Licensing is keeping up with the ability and flexibility to use and integrate with Oracle ERP Cloud.

Steps to Enable

You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.

Tips And Considerations

Public Sector Accounting has been removed from the Setup and Maintenance page.

If your agency does not use Oracle Financials or Oracle for your accounting, you will need to disable the Financials Cloud Subledger Accounting option:

  1. Navigate to Setup and Maintenance > Change Feature Opt In.
  2. Select the pencil icon in the Features column for the Accounting Row.
  3. Select the pencil icon in the Enable column for Accounting Options Framework row.
  4. Clear both "Financials Cloud Subledger Accounting" and "Financials Cloud Applications" options.
  5. Click Save and Close.
  6. Click Done.
