Update Existing Plans Using Enhanced Compensation Plan Import

Update existing compensation plans using enhanced compensation plan import. In the Compensation Plan work area, when you click Manage Compensation Plan Import Processes and start a new compensation plan import process , choose the Update option in the In Case of Conflict field. This will use the plan xml file you have exported from your source environment and uploaded to the process to update the plan in the target environment.

When you choose the Update option, the processing mode field will show up which provides you two options - Report and Overwrite. If the process is submitted with processing mode as Report, the process will not make any changes to the plan but will let you know through the output file all the changes that will be made when the process is submitted with processing mode as overwrite. This gives you a way to confirm that you are only making changes you want and not any inadvertent changes like changes to other plans by updating any entities also used in other plans. To actually make the updates to the plan, run the same process with the same xml file with processing mode as Overwrite. A file can submitted with processing mode as Overwrite only if you have run it first processing mode as Report.

By using the update option, you can increase efficiency and avoid risk by not having to do any manual configuration to update existing plans.

Steps to Enable

Tips And Considerations

Make sure you look at the output file of the compensation plan import request when you submit the process with processing mode as Report. This gives you a chance to review all the changes that you will be making before you submit the process with processing mode as Overwrite. Make sure you are not making any inadvertent changes.
