Commerce Process Stages

Oracle CPQ 24D introduces new stage functionality for both legacy and standard processes. The three stages (Quotes, Agreements, and Orders) are used to identify where a transaction is within the Commerce process flow. This update will also allow users to quickly search and access transactions within a specific stage. Upon upgrade to Oracle CPQ 24D all current transactions are set to the Quote stage.

The new Commerce Process Stage parameter allows administrators to enable/disable relevant stages for the associated process transactions.

  • Quote is the default stage and cannot be disabled.

  • The Order stage is automatically enabled for new Standard Processes.

  • When the Order stage is enabled for an existing Standard Process, it cannot be disabled.

Process Administrtion

Oracle CPQ 24D introduces the following Commerce items to support stages for both Standard and non-Standard Processes:

  • The new Stage (_stage) Commerce main document system menu attribute identifies the current stage of a transaction. The allowable entries are "QUOTE", "ORDER", and "AGREEMENT".

  • The new Valid Stages (_system_valid_stages) system attribute contains the enabled stage values selected for the applicable Commerce process.

  • The new Commerce main document Create Price Agreement type action is used to publish the pricing for a CPQ sales agreement to the CPQ Pricing Portal as a Price Agreement.

When the Redwood Quotes List UI is enabled, the My Orders and My Agreements searches are also automatically generated when the associated stages are enabled and deployed in the Commerce process.

Oracle CPQ 24D also introduces new validatequoteforagreement BML function to validate that all prerequisites are satisfied prior to creation of an agreement.

Workflow Step Stages

Oracle CPQ 24D introduces the Stage parameter for workflow steps to manage user access and transitions. The available stage options are determined by the stages that are enabled for the Commerce process. Upon upgrade to Oracle CPQ 24D, stage will default to Quote for all existing workflow steps.
