Limit Usage of Promotions by User and/or Account

With this release, Oracle Commerce now supports enhanced usage limits on promotions, allowing businesses to restrict how many times a promotion can be applied. These limits can be set based on:

  • Individual users (B2B or B2C)
  • The B2B organization overall
  • A combination of both

Key benefits include:

  • Ability for merchants to define maximum usage limits per user, organization, or both for promotions.
  • Enables targeted promotions, such as introductory discounts for new users and accounts, supplier discounts and more.

Steps to Enable

  1. Navigate to the Availability tab in promotion details
  2. Set the value of “Number of Uses Per User” to limit the promotion at the individual user level
  3. Set the value of “Number of Uses Per Account” to limit the promotion at the organization level
  4. Alternatively, set a value for both of properties to apply a combined restriction

Tips And Considerations

  • By default, the usage limit at the user and account is set to unlimited.
  • When the usage limit is set to unlimited, it means there is no restriction on how many times the promotion can be used.
  • If usage limits are set at both the user and account levels, the restriction that is reached first will apply.
